BRACES =/

(thanks to google for these pictures)
:D ever had these? haha damn. those excruciating moments. i still remember when i told my mum i don't want to wear any of those when i was coming 13 years old. cause i was dreading the PAIN.

but with all the persuasion of wanting a good set of teeth =/ well yeah. i don't smile very often when i was younger (before i had braces AND also when i have braces) you can imagine my embarrassment, my insecurities, my low self-esteem, lack of confidence and all that jazz. but do bear in mind. my mind is not a 12 year old when i was that age. i was way much younger :). gullible, bullied and sensitive :D (HAHA exaggerating there)

so yeah i went to my first check-up. and boom. Dr. Ang (yes; even my doctor has my surname; long lost aunty maybe) immediately scheduled me up. It took several months (yes i don't use braces staright away as there were some procedures to follow).

First; EXTRACTION. =/ (THE ONE I DREADED THE MOST. at least it's the first one to get over with right? x)) oh my. to tell you the truth i don't have the 32 teeth; complete adult set of teeth. instead i only have 28 now :) uh huh. i'm not ordinary *jumps for joy x)* so you see Dr. Ang extracted four of my molars. (insert OUCHness) 2 below.2 top. well those extractions were not done in one day of course. first extraction was the bottom. and the next month after will be the top one. I KNOW. but so not to feel the pain. my 4 poor teeth were anesthetic ed. but you only get to feel the pain after few hours =/ i remembered got sick for several days after each set of extractions. oh yes. i cried like a baby. :D but it's funny tho when my mouth got injected. (FYI: I REALLY REALLY HATE NEEDLES) It feels like my mouth got swollen. imagine being punch. yeah it's like that. And don't make me even elaborate on the gross parts. if you know what i mean.

Second; BRACES. after the extraction (huhu so many hollow spaces :D 4 to be exact) i will meet my doctor again for the BRACES. it took few hours to get it all done. i still remembered i was so tired of sitting down (i'm a kid; what do you expect) with my mouth WIDE open ALL THE TIME. who wouldn't get tired. and get your gums and lips poked. eee it's annoying. and rinsing your mouth almost everytime. but by the time you know it. i had braces. woo. AND first feeling of it. OUCH! damn. it hurt. i couldn't clenched my teeth together. it's as if i just wanted to open my mouth for the rest of the day. heh heh. no kidding. it hurts.

Third; MONTHLY APPOINTMENTS. uh huh. i need to see the doctor every month to get my braces tighten. and yes. every month. it's hell of a pain. AND i get tooo....

have different coloured elastic ligatures everytime ^^. i loved blue. i really loved blue so much. i always choose that colour (light, dark etc) sayang i never had pink x). but ! oh yes there's always a but alright. i only get to wear them several months. The doctor replace them with metal strings. =/ HAIH. unfortunate much? =/ i donoe. maybe it's just the way how the doctor wanted. anyways. i also constantly have to use rubber bands. which i hook from a top bracket to a bottom bracket everytime. except during when you're eating of course. oh. the doctor will provide somthing like a soft "dental clay thing" which to cover brackets that's always causing blisters.. -.- haih. EEEEEEeee you'll get what i mean. HAHA google them.

oh yes all that pain :s but sooner than i think :) my canines are soon coordinate themselves into THEIR suppose originated places. and my bottom incisors strightened up :) Heeeee i was overjoyed with the results and hoping to get it off! HEY don't blame me. i wear braces for most of my high school years.. and you can imagine my dramas! (i have nice friends x) haih. i'm like the only one in my year to wear them; uh huh) so after 2 years the doctor switch me from braces to this...

retainers!! x) not done yet bah. still. i also thought that time. when they clean my teeth and remove those braces. i would be :D wooo freedom TO SMILE. HAHAH then again :D..it's like saying "NEXT...IT's THE RETAINERS" getme?. HAHA.
well at least retainers are much okay now. :) oh yes you can feel my joy that time(i even put that sentence in present :D). BEING ABLE TO SMILE!. these goes on.. PmBs. form 4.. form 5.. yes i know.. it's so long. but soon after :) i don't have to use retainers anymore :D YEAY! but then... HAHA (do you realise there's always a but :D)... i have these.. to live with..

a metal behind my bottom set of teeth. oh yes :) who wants to see behind my teeth anyways. that's like huh. you're weird. let me live x) haha joking. but yeah. BUT (there she goes again with the but...) for what is worth.. :) i have no regrets of going thru those years. yes. even it's painful.. physically.. emotionally..

~ i have a perfect set of teeth (eventhough it's incomplete i must say)
~ the habit of taking good care of my teeth during those years REMAIN!
~ no cavities :)
~ i smile :)
~ when i look in my mirror :) my teeth :D i don't have to worry looking like a dracula !
~ i love them :) HAHA

p.s there was this one time. when i played bball with some classmates. a classmate threw the ball right to my mouth (i had my braces on). yup it bleeds. that's why :) orange balls won't be much friendly with me really. i'm always.. aware....

i can't believe these happened years ago..

let's freeze time
